The UF 80 from CME-Pro is a wireless MIDI keyboard controller, with 88 fully weighted velocity sensitive keys and global aftertouch, housed in a durable aluminum case. A full compliment of controllers is provided, all of which are user assignable. These include faders, rotary controls, transport controls and the usual modulation and pitch wheels. Unique at this price point is a breath controller input.The keyboard also sports a full duplex wireless MIDI interface that communicates with the included WIDI-XU wireless MIDI interface. The WIDI-XU connects to a computer via USB and communicates with the keyboard with a 'sight of line' range of over two-hundred feet.The keyboard can also function as a regular USB MIDI interface, in which case, it draws power from the USB bus. This same connection will allow for future updates and enhancements to be downloaded directly to the keyboard.
The unit supports most professional audio/MIDI applications.
Can you play MIDI files from disk to your sound card? The CME appears to work in 64 bit mode if you download the Vista driver.
I’ve never had a controller that had a USB port on the controller itself. If you are using an old interface through a game port you just need to upgrade to a USB port interface or purchase a card that has MIDI ports built in like some of the M-Audio cards do. There is no support for it for Windows 7 – I think the company blew it off for the later model controllers they are trying to sell.

MIDI is an industry standard format that doesn’t send audio signals but performance data such as which key is pressed, how long it is held down, how quickly it was pressed, and which instrument is mapped to that key. PS – as for the interface, I am using Ableton Live 8 primarily which appears thus far to load up no problem under Windows 7.
